Job Description
Below is an outline of the responsibilities for an Apex Labor I team member that promotes progress, quality and safety.
Key Responsibilities:
1. General Labor: Provide general labor as directed by Apex supervisor. Daily labor work required for a Labor I will consist of, but not limited to, sweeping, shoveling, trash clean-up, packing tools, hauling construction materials, wheelbarrow, raking, laying sod and jack hammering. Daily clean-up of each work area/site you are assigned to. Loading and unloading of trucks with tools and material each morning and at the end of each day.
2. Tools & Equipment: As a Labor I you should be capable of using general hand tools (i.e. hammer, screwdriver, drill or screw gun, tape measure etc.). Small to medium power tools and equipment use will be required as well such as jackhammers, compactors, gas water pumps and more.
3. Safety: At all times, safety is a top priority for all Apex field personnel. Maintain a safe and clean work site, safety practices and take necessary precautions to maintain a healthy and safe work environment. PPE is your responsibility to wear, at all times Personal Protective Equipment practices should be utilized.
4. Appearance: Show up to work each day with washed clothing and a neat and clean appearance. Wearing of sun hats is acceptable, ballcaps are expected to be Apex branded. Boots or appropriate footwear is required. A neat and clean appearance is required when working on Apex projects and displaying Apex branded clothing. Excessively torn clothing, intentionally ripped clothing and unwashed clothing is not acceptable.
5. Time keeping: It is your responsibility to accurately track your time on your time sheet that matches your time in/out time clock entries daily.
6. Direction & Communication: It is important to understand and listen to directives provided for each task and provide the labor support for each task given. Provide confirmation on each directive given and feedback upon completion of each task. Accepting direction in a positive manner is a key factor in success for the Labor I position at Apex and is the basis for the positive Apex culture.
7. Training and Development: Stay current on industry related training and education. Develop skills through mentorship and education and assist in the development and training of new Apex team members on industry related practices as well as company policies, protocols and procedures.
8. Apex initiative: Always be prepared to have the willingness and flexibility to undertake and perform any tasks, duties or responsibilities outside of the general scope of work outlined for your role at the direction of management and/or for the success of Apex. Apex reserves the right to assign additional tasks and responsibilities as needed.
In summary, a Labor I employee in this role will be on time, eager to accept tasks daily, encompass the Apex culture in look, attitude and a responsive to learning and evolving as an Apex pool builder. In each day you will promote safety, quality and integrity in all aspects of the Apex product, customers and team members.
