Something new is coming to the luxury swimming pool realm: Hydrofloors.
A Hydrofloor is a retractable floor that when raised, become a strong surface that covers the pool. The pool stairs retract and the pool water remains under the floor.
The Hydrofloor can accommodate any type of pool finish, including tile, marble and glass mosaic. It can support up to 55lb/per sq foot, perfect for when additional backyard space is needed for gatherings.
They are highly energy efficient, keeping pools warm in the winter and cool in the summer. But, this type of luxury does start at a hefty price tag: $230,000 for a standard 12' x 24' surface.
